Lately, I’ve been hard at work on Hiss Pop, a playful narrative experience, that will be part of the Exploratorium’s March 1st ‘After Dark’ event. The theme of the night is ‘vinyl’ and you’re all invited!

The project is built using a technology so new that this will be its first public appearance in the United States. I can’t tell you much more about that until after the event, but it’s been fun to think up ways to use it – we’ve only scratched the surface with this project. It also uses a technology so old it was tough to get them produced: a set of custom 45rpm records.

I got to work with a bunch of talented folks on this project: Ken Eklund, who lead the writing and with whom I collaborated on the experience design, Scott Minneman of Onomy Labs, who took on the physical elements (and managed to find all the turntables we needed), Michael Wertz, who provided the fabulous illustrations, and Sean Ross, who produced the vinyl itself.

So mark your calendars for the evening of March 1st and join us at the Exploratorium. There’s analog audio deliciousness and more in store.
